Hosting a campout consists of establishing a theme or event for the campout, planning an activity for the group and/or a potluck meal. Theme examples might be Christmas in July, Halloween, Country music, 60's dress up, Beach time, scavenger hunt, etc. For a potluck meal everyone is invited to bring a dish to pass. As a host it is helpful to provide a list of what you would like people to bring. The host should also specify the time for the event and/or meal.
The greeter is the person who volunteers to provide their site as a meeting place for the group to meet new members and socialize on Friday night. Typically the greeter may optionally provide some simple refreshment. Such as coffee, soft drinks and/or a snack. The greeter should be someone who can be set up and ready by 7:30 PM on Friday evening.
As with all things associated with this group it is entirely voluntary. No one is required to host a campout or be a greeter.
Campouts may or may not have a host, theme or potluck. Sometimes it may be just a kick back and relax gathering.
If you would like to host a campout just post your details in a sign up topic for the campout. An administrator or moderator will transfer your information to the campout summary post.
If you would like to be the greeter at a campout just let me know.
Hosting and greeting can be added anytime prior to the campout.
