I'm Jan, my husband is Pat. We moved to Murfreesboro after Pat retired from the USAF (30yrs). We thought long and hard about where to settle and attempt to grow roots. We chose TN, and Murfreesboro for the plethora of outdoor things to do as well as the climate and cost of living. We have our young adult children living with us, but they don't camp much. We bought our pop up last year to facilitate hiking and exploring our new home state- and it turns out it helps tamper the itchy feet syndrome we suffer from after so many moves with the AF. We went out a lot last year, early Spring and Fall (our preferred times). This year we went out only 3 times in early Spring. I'm sticking close to home trying to grow and nurture a garden and the fruit trees we unknowingly bought with the house (we bought in late Fall). We are currently itching to get out again. We prefer to camp when the bugs and crowds are few. We love to Geocache and clomping thru the woods picking up ticks and chiggers just isn't much fun. We currently tow with a Chevy Equinox, but have ordered a Ram 2500 so we will feel more comfortable going into the mountains (and also upgrade possibilities if/when we tire of the pop up).

We are looking to join one of the Fall meet ups. We prefer the cooler temps to camp since we are in a pop up, and are waiting for our new tow vehicle to arrive (on order) in Sept. If we get another dip in the temps/humidity for a few days we may take off, but for now we are parked .
